About Me

I am a University of California, San Diego graduate with a B.S. in Environmental Systems, specializing in Ecology, Behavior, and Evolution. Since graduating in June 2024, I have worked in environmental compliance and stormwater management, conducting construction and industrial inspections throughout California under the 2022 Construction General Permit (CGP) and Caltrans Standard Specifications Section 13.

My experience includes preparing and reviewing SWPPPs, completing routine and qualifying precipitation event inspections, conducting water quality testing for pH and turbidity, monitoring weather conditions, and submitting regulatory documents through SMARTS, including NOIs, Ad Hocs, Annual Reports, Change of Information Amendments, and Notices of Termination. I regularly communicate with clients, project managers, and colleagues regarding environmental deficiencies and permit requirements, while also training interns on CGP documentation and Best Management Practices.

Through this work, I have developed strong skills in environmental compliance, field inspections, technical documentation, communication, and regulatory processes, and I am eager to continue building my career in the environmental field.

Featured Projects

A closer look at the work behind the resume.

Project 01

Construction Stormwater Compliance

Supported a confidential residential construction project by conducting routine and qualifying precipitation event inspections under the 2022 CGP. I was responsible for identifying BMP deficiencies, documenting site conditions, and communicating corrective actions to the project team. The result was a site that stayed in compliance through several storm events and passed each subsequent regulatory review.

Project 02

Caltrans CGP Permit Review

Reviewed permit requirements for a Caltrans project governed by the 2024 Standard Specifications, Section 13. My role involved cross-checking inspection findings against Caltrans-specific documentation standards and helping the team stay aligned on submission deadlines. I came away with a much deeper understanding of how state highway projects layer on top of standard CGP requirements.

Project 03

SWPPP Development

Assisted in writing and reviewing Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans for residential development and civil construction projects. I worked through project plans to select and document appropriate Best Management Practices for each site's conditions, then coordinated with project managers to keep the SWPPP current as construction phases changed.

Project 04

Water Quality Monitoring

Conducted pH and turbidity testing during qualifying precipitation events, including equipment calibration before each sampling round. This project sharpened my field sampling technique and taught me how to translate raw water quality readings into clear, defensible documentation for regulatory submission.

Project 05

Industrial Stormwater Inspection

Completed industrial inspection training on a FedEx facility, applying industrial general permit requirements alongside my construction inspection background. I reviewed laboratory reports for sampling results and learned how industrial stormwater compliance differs from construction site work in scope and documentation.

A Day in the Field

From the field to compliance reporting

My work combines field inspections, environmental monitoring, regulatory requirements, and communication with project teams. Each inspection provides information that must ultimately be documented and translated into actionable compliance requirements.
